Crib Safety Notifications
At AFG Baby, you and your family's safety is important to us. AFG Baby offers its customers high-quality products that meet reliability standards - all of our furniture is JPMA Certified.
CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) offers the following advice to consumers:
- Check your crib periodically to ensure that all parts are secure and in good condition. Always check all sides and corners of the crib for disengagement. Any disengagement can create a gap and entrap a child.Please visit CPSC website for more details.
- Do not try to repair any side of the crib, especially with tape, wire or rope.
- Do not use any crib with missing, broken, or loose parts. Tighten hardware from time to time to keep the crib sturdy.
CPSC recently released a new mandate that if you are missing or lose any screws to discontinue use of the crib immediately. If you are experiencing any issue with the insert nuts on your crib, please contact us for documentation on the easy fix. We appreciate your prompt contact.
- Repeated assembly and disassembly might cause more problems.
AFG strongly recommends against using old cribs, second-hand cribs, or cribs purchased at a garage sale, as they may not meet current standards.
- Make sure to tighten hardware to keep the crib sturdy.
- The mattress you choose should fit the dimensions of the crib exactly.
If you can fit two fingers between the mattress and the crib frame, the mattress is too small, and therefore unsafe for baby.
- When using a drop-side crib, parents should check and make sure the part operates smoothly.
